The Effects of the Louisiana Scholarship Program on Student Achievement After Four Years

This randomized control trial by Jonathan N. Mills and Patrick J. Wolf examines the effects of the Louisiana Scholarship Program (private school vouchers) on student achievement after four years. The authors compare students who won an oversubscribed voucher lottery to their first choice school with students who entered the voucher lottery but did not win a seat in their first choice school. The authors find significant negative effects of voucher uptake, particularly on math scores.
